We went to Cabo San Lucas for my 29th birthday celebration. It was a beautiful setting, with a 3 bedroom house overlooking the ocean. The whales were migrating and it was amazing to see from our house. All of a sudden you would see a big splash and you'd look up, just in time to see the whale jump out of the water again. It was incredible. We really spent all day, everyday at the pool. Our house had it's own private pool and we also went to the resort pool nearby.
Popcorn on the patio was Hunter's favorite treat.Just after we arrived. We were hungry and tired but loved the view!
The handsome Hubby.
Landon would be happy anywhere, but after ordering room service he was ecstatic. He was hungry.
We're SINGING!!! Landon has become quite vocal in the last few weeks. He lets off a LOUD high pitch scream when he is unhappy. He also babbles pretty much nonstop and repeats syllables that you say to him. He's growing up too fast!
This was our private pool. Doesn't it look like we're on the edge of the world? That's the ocean behind me!
Me and the big boy in the pool. He is very vocal in a different way. Let's call it bossy. Hunter knows what he wants and he isn't afraid to tell you. Some of my favorites:
"Mommy, don't look at me." "Mommy, don't talk to me." "No Mommy, you sit over there not here." "Mommy, don't sit next to me." And on and on and on it goes. Other highlights from the trip "Daddy, you're a crazy driver" or "Daddy, you're a Mexican driver" (they're crazy drivers down there). Anyhow, he wouldn't go in the pool unless he could be on his own 2 independent feet. So we ended up down at the kiddie pool for a lot of the time. But during naps and first thing in the morning we would go in our pool. The hotel was nice enough to babyproof for us with temporary fencing so I wasn't stressed about the boys falling into the pool.
Sometimes he likes me though. This is a rare moment. Usually he is a total Daddy's boy.
I tried to look presentable before going out at night. What fun to have my 2 big boys - one on each hip.
Hunter in the baby pool
Me and the boys in the "Sky pool" which was built on top of a mountain.
Daddy and the boys at Sky pool.
We had to take these little golf carts everywhere. Hunter LOVED them. They kind of drive like and smell like the cars at Autopia at Disneyland. Needless to say, Brian and I weren't so excited about the gas fumes but Hunter was ecstatic.
Bikini time!
Brian adores the little angel. Poor little guy got sick while we were in Mexico and is only now starting to get over it 2 days after being home. Montezuma's revenge. I wish it had attacked me and left this angel alone. He was so sweet about it - like he didn't want to bother you but he was in pain.
Me and the baby Angel. See how someone is missing from the photos? Like every 2.5 year old, he has a mind of his own. He doesn't want to smile or be in photos. "No Mommy! Don't take a picture of me!"
Brian has unreasonably long arms, so we got a picture of ourselves :-)
The boys. This time it was Landon who wouldn't stay put. :-)
Dinner at the Hacienda. Amazing food. We went back another night for dinner because it was SO good. Best tortilla soup EVER.
Boys who drink together, play together.
Brian and Hunter at the top of the Sky Pool. There is a lower layer of this pool.
The view from Sky Pool. Awesome huh?
And this is Brian lounging in our pool
Brian fitting in like a local ;-) He'd really throw them off when he'd start speaking fluently (and with an accent) in Spanish. I can follow and understand but I don't speak at all because I'd be too embarrassed by my awful grammar.
My toofers hurt Mama!! He's got 2 more on the way but I'm not nursing anymore so this will be a less painful experience.
He's looking down at the pool. Our pool. Our 89 degree wonderful pool. That was my favorite thing about the trip.
Before dinner. I tried to look somewhat presentable before one of the boys rubbed some kind of meat/beans/guacamole on me.
We left the boys naked a lot. Landon loved it, as you can see. Unfortunately our pool area was not completely private, so Brian stayed clothed. Teehee
On the golf cart. You can tell Landon isn't feeling well because he is so cuddly. I hate when he's sick but I LOVE the cuddles!
The boys' tushies. Is there anything cuter? (Note: I am right out of camera shot and Brian is taking the picture).
Can you tell that I love my boys? Just a little?
The boys are finally getting to an age where they can interact. Of course, this is entirely dependent on Hunter's mood. Here they are playing peekaboo int he curtains. Luckily, he is mostly in a good mood and likes to make Landon laugh (who then makes him laugh). Adorable.
Again. Brian's long arms got us a photo!
Sunset on his throne.
Hunter is taking "pictures" of Daddy.
Aww. Such a sweet smile.
I've never seen Landon eat so much in my whole life. Then I looked on the ground. It turns out that he was sucking the Alfredo sauce off of the noodles and throwing them on the floor. Funny kid.
He also loved the Alfredo sauce. See it ALLLL over his face?
Would you ever guess that he is sick?
Me and the boys.
The boys. Landon is too fascinated by the ocean/sunset. They do look cute anyways though, right?
Golf cart shot again.
Cuddle bug shot again :-)
ANd he's OUT. I actually got to swim in the public pool because Landon was asleep. I couldn't believe he fell asleep by the pool. What a little chubby cherub though.
Swimming in the baby pool. Hunter found his sea legs and is able to jump off the side of the pool to Daddy. He is afraid of swimming in the water again though, so he's starting swim lessons in January. So is Landon, for that matter. I will have swimming kids this summer!
I LOVE these chubby thighs. Unfortunately he lost a bunch of weight from being sick, so they're skinnier now but I'm working hard on making him rolly again.
Couldn't you eat that face?
The last night before we left we went back to the Hacienda hotel. SO good! It's right by the water and you can see the ships come in and out of the port. They happened to be releasing 3 hour old baby turtles on the beach. Hunter and I went to look, while Landon and Daddy stayed behind.
Hunter was afraid to hold the turtle when the man offered, but I was pretty excited to hold him!!
Our only family photo from the entire trip!
Me and the boys before leaving to go back to the hotel. They were both tired, but I just love photos of me and the boys. It's the week before Christmas and we have almost all of our stuff in order. We are so excited for the holidays and hope everyone has a fantastic holiday season with family and friends.
