Aunt Chi Chi, Aunt Donna and cousin (Captain) Becca come to visit!

As always, we had a TON of fun when my aunts came to town. The kids were SO excited that they were coming that they counted down the days. They woke up early on Saturday to see my aunts! They didn't need any period of getting reacquainted - they jumped right back into it.  Chi Chi brought a game with them that they played right away.
Aspen needed a little bit of warming up but after just a few minutes she was Goo in my aunt's hands. The feeling was mutual.

Landon LOVES Aunt Donna! He couldn't wait to see her either.
Cute Thor. He wasn't feeling great so he spent a lot of time on our bed.  At the moment he is in the cone of shame.
On Saturday we walked to the beach and had some snacks and then came home. It was the first time my kids went to the beach since Hunter was diagnosed in January.  To say I was nervous was an understatement but they were SO happy to be there and it is my aunt's favorite part of the trip so I couldn't be a party pooper and not go.  We had a blast.
Aspen wasn't so sure about the feeling of the sand on her feet so my aunts helped her. This kid knows how to get people wrapped around her fingers!
The kids tackled me.

Kisses for my baby. He thinks he isn't a baby anymore. But he is.
Aunt Donna saved Aspen from the ocean water  and just like that, they were besties.

Holding on for dear life!!!

Good times were had by all!
Naptime on the couch
Reading lessons!
Out to dinner

A corn dog?! What is a corn dog?!
And Landon was so tired that he fell asleep at the table!
Book reading in bed time!
On Sunday we to Aspen, Hunter and Brian ready for church and then we took Landon on an adventure to San Diego with us. We picked up my cousin Becca at the airport and then went to see Jenny at the Navy base.  It was super fun!
Lunch at Sammy's after picking up Becca

We rode the trolley! Landon loves trains, so this was pretty exciting for him. They gave us the wrong directions on the train and we had to walk 19 blocks through the barrio while carrying Landon. Thanks to Aunt Donna for splitting the load with me!
Becca is not amused by her mom (but I am.)

Woohoo!!! We made it!
The cousins! The 5 of us girls haven't all been together since 2004! 9 years! It was good to be reunited even if we almost go kicked out for taking photographs inside the Navy gates.  Oops.
After seeing Jen's ship (which was incredible and made me very humble seeing the way she lives on this boat!), we went for ice cream. At Ghirardelli's. My favorite.
Then we brought dinner over to Jen's house. Her house is so cute and she is so proud of it. Landon was OBSESSED with the kitty cats.
Look at that proud face

Happiness to the 3rd power
Dinner!

Sweet boy loves the kitty. Kitty was very patient with sweet Landon.

I changed into jammies. I swear I didn't look like this all day but we were driving home late.

I'm the tallest. They give me such a hard time about being a shrimp!
Jenn and her house
Cousins!
Silly cousins
On Monday, Brian and I left on our 2 night getaway to Vegas. Becca and my aunts took the kids to the beach.
Crazy group

Stinky feet

Chi Chi helped Hunter SO much with his reading! By the time she left he was doing an amazing job with his words. He's getting really good at reading his sounds and 3-4 letter words.

Aspen loves fruit

The train at the Farmer's market!
Beautiful girls

Chi Chi brought awesome magnifying glasses so the kids could explore the world. Such a smart present. They LOVE them.

On Thursday night we went out to dinner the 4 of us. It was amazingly fun and relaxing.

Cheddar bacon biscuits with maple butter.  Mmmmm.

I always LOVE it when my aunts come to visit and am always SO sad to see them go! They bring me memories of my mom and lots of laughter.  Besides, they all exercise to eat like I do! I am so grateful for when they come and I miss them tons already.
