Updates

Oh there are so many. I haven't really been taking photos, except what I put on facebook from my phone.

Anyhow, things are CRAZY around here! Hunter is in first grade.  We are in the middle of the second week of school and Hunter is one of a few kids who have yet to lose a token in class. In fact, Hunter has the most tokens of anyone in the class.  Fist pump. But seriously, it's a big deal. He is so well behaved that he hasn't been reprimanded at any way. Once a month they have the opportunity to use their tokens to "buy" something out of the teacher's "store". Anyhow, we are really proud of Hunter and how he is doing in school. He has been off of his infusions for 3 months now. We went to the immunologist today. He got a booster shot to see if Hunter will make any antibodies at all.  More bloodwork in a month. In the meantime, they took blood to see where his IGG levels have leveled off. So, we wait to see what happens. The dr. is guessing that the levels will be 450-480, which is really borderline. Then we will just take it step by step until we determine if he really needs the infusions or if he will develop normally on his own. I'm kind of okay with the wait and see approach except for all these stupid idiots who don't vaccinate their kids.  These are the kids who will bring chicken pox to school and Hunter will end up in the hospital or worse. So, stressful. Very, very stressful. But he's a great kid and I am so lucky to be his Mommy. So lucky.

Landon. This kid is a CRACK UP. He is beginning to emerge from the stage often referred to as "please shoot me." This is directed at me. Please shoot Mommy. Anyhow, he is coming out of it, and what a wonderful boy he is! He is kind and helpful with his sisters and starting to play nicely with Hunter. It's really cute.  He still would rather be home than at school and I often find myself wondering how he will do in first grade (all day away from Mommy). For now, I'm loving the time I have with him though.

Aspen. She begged to go to school all year last year. So, she's in school and guess what? She was MADE for school. I love how much she loves school. On the first day we got the report - the teachers were impressed. "What a smart girl! She's counting and speaks in full sentences. She's not intimidated at all. She doesn't depend on Landon and plays freely with all of the kids." Aspen is BY FAR the youngest kid in the class.  It's a class of 3-5 yr old and she will be 3 in November. So, the baby for sure. She stands her ground though and doesn't move over for bigger kids who want her "work". I'm so impressed with my baby.  She barely says "bye" when we drop her off and can't wait to go to school in the mornings. On the health front, she hasn't had another "seizure" per se, but she's had some things that were scary and weird and made us concerned.  Anyhow, she has a 24 hour EEG this week. She was a superstar about it.  The tech who fitted her had never done a kid this young and said that if it had been any other kid, they couldn't have done it. But Aspen sat very still for 90 minutes while they fitted her in a giant net full of electrodes and then wrapped in gauze. Then she had a computer strapped to her belly and one to her back. She was a trooper.  We are waiting on results of that. No stress. I'm cool. Right? RIGHT?!

Maisy. This kid is hilarious. She is still my MOST demanding child. In fact, she is demanding to be fed. For over a month now, she has been trying to put my food in her mouth. Tonight at dinner after an incredibly stressful day, I gave into her. I fed her Lawry's spinach and mashed potatoes. Oh did she LOVE them. I can't wait to watch her thigh rolls grow so deliciously round. The question really is if she will try sleeping in more than 2-3 hour chunks. She is wearing me out.

The greatest part of having 3 kids in school? I have spent the last 3 days cleaning my house and going to lunch with friends. Seriously? Is this my life? I have cleaned out almost 3 rooms in 3 days. When I say "clean", I mean that I have packed up 5 boxes of toys and 6 bags of clothes. And I haven't even hit a bedroom yet. I am SO excited to organize my house into some semblance of order.  I love seeing the rooms look organized and cared for, instead of filled with junk that was haphazardly placed there.  Now, if only I could get the kids to stop playing in the clean playroom. They mess it up!!!! Haha.

So that's the update. I'll let you all know when we get health news. Keep us in your prayers, as He is the only one with any control over our destiny.  I know I have to give it up to him instead of trying to control it, but the mama bear in me wants a fight. :-)
