This trip was the best one of them all. We left on June 22 and came home on July 19 and everyone begged to stay longer. We had so much fun and it started to feel more like a place we live than a place we just visit. We ran into friends in the Town Square and at the grocery store. We celebrated with a backyard BBQ at a friend's house. We had too much fun. I'll let the story unfold in photos.
We started with 2 days in Las Vegas. Brian had to work, so I took the kids to see my Dad and Kathey for dinner. The next day, we went to a neighborhood pool with my friend Jen.
Hunter and Landon playing football with my Dad.
Gramma Kathey playing hide and seek with Aspen
This NEVER happens. Do you hear me? NEVER. She does not sleep in her carseat.
Even more strange - asleep at the pool! This baby LOVES the water. If she had gills, she would be a fish! She has no fear of jumping in, going under, and kicking in the water.
Mine and Jen's 8 kids!
My 4 <3 p=""> All 8 again!
Group hug!
"Grandpa" Terry went to dinner with us the second night at Buddy V's - a favorite!
And that was a big day - 2 asleep!
So we drove to Vegas and stayed, then to Salt Lake to see our friend Nate and his family. We stayed over night there and the next day drove to Jackson. I *might* have tried to bribe Maisy to quit screaming by giving her chocolate lollipops in the car. That *might* have happened.
This video is the funniest thing ever. In all her anger, she kept thinking of words to say to get her out of the car. "Bye bye! Bye bye!" she exclaims. When that doesn't work, she starts crying again. Then she tries "All done! All done" and wails when it doesn't get her out of her seat. This sweet cutie pie. It was too funny to watch but I felt terrible that I couldn't just pick her up and snuggle her.
Lucky Charms. Like a good mom.
Driving down "the pass" from Idaho into the "Hole", isn't it gorgeous?!
There is a mountain biking place set up where the skiing usually is. The boys BEGGED to go. They got to watch.
They were SUPER excited to arrive! I'd also like to point out that this is the most frequent division. Hunter and Aspen seem to be best friends a lot of the time, and Landon and Maisy. Also, Landon and Maisy generally gravitate towards me, while Hunter and Aspen generally go towards Brian. Funny dynamics. Of course Landon and Aspen are also pretty tight. The boys like to play sports and rough and tumble together. I guess they all play in their pairs, but lately those are the general pairings.
This is the club we joined. 3 Creek Ranch. This is the view from our table at dinner. Why wouldn't everyone want to move here?!
Looking in the fishing pond.
On our property, looking towards Lot 13.
This is how little boys should grow up. Running around in waist high grass to pick wildflowers for his Mama (and then blow them on her.)
Looking in our pond. That's right. We have 2 ponds on our property.
This is one of them.
Our Northern view.
A deer greeted us the first day when we pulled out of our hotel!
Playing Dominos in the room
And drinking smoothies by the pool.
This makes her happy!
"Mommy! Take my picture! I look like Abraham Lincoln!"
Selfie with my fun pants. I'm sad that Brian hates them. But I'm really not - because you can't be sad in your fun pants!!!!!!!!
Family Field day was awesome. We were the red team, named the Red-tailed hawks. We lost by 10 million points but we had an awesome time.
The road to 3 Creek!
Sleepy head.
Osprey nest
This was on the scenic float through the Grand Teton National Park. It was exceptional. And then it turned freezing. I'm just saying. I was cold.
Playing football in our backyard at the hotel.
Monkeys in the middle!
We took the boys on a few dates while in Jackson. The first, we went to dinner and then to the Rodeo. Landon loves the rodeo and I could totally see him bronc riding and breaking every girls' heart.
My mischievous little man
Landon was photobombing us
I know this looks like a painting, but I actually took this photo!
Running after the sheep!
Getting signatures from the real cowboys. So cute.
The view on my run. I almost died. I hadn't run in 3 months and decided to start again at 6400 ft elevation. What was I thinking?
I ran to the entrance to the park!
My loves @3CreekRanch
Stagecoach rides! A tradition. Maisy loves the horses and sat mesmerized when she could see them.
An interesting fact about Maisy: She generally doesn't like to be touched. She really does not like her head to be touched, and being squished is the absolute worst. What I'm saying is, she didn't enjoy this photo.
Silly faces
Hunter - the protector. the pleaser. the helper.
Landon: the lover. conscientious. thoughtful.
Maisy: trouble. silly. charming
This might have been family field day. I lied about it earlier.
We are with our new buddies. This is a fantastic family.
Ice cream was our reward for participating.
My cutie pie.
Yellowstone! We spent a day driving around and doing some short hikes. I can't wait until the kids are bigger and we can do more fun, longer hikes.
Maisy was super independent and wouldn't let me carry her - even if it meant she might accidentally almost fall into the obscenely hot geothermal activity. Try explaining that to a 15 month old who has been in the car for hours.
Elk! Yum!
Lower falls!
Hunter is so sweet with Maisy. She wouldn't hold my hand - only his. At least he kept her from being boiled in a geyser!
Old Faithful!
He's so funnnnnnnnny!
Mama Moose and her baby on the main road (Moose-Wilson road)
Aspen - so excited to jump jump jump!
Hunter - higher and higher
Landon! So high!
This moon was phenomenal. Brian and I were on a date night and went for a walk where we saw a deer and a blue moon.
Phelps Lake hike.
This flower reminded me of my mom and brother - they love sunflowers.
My kids giving me a massage!
They made a tent! Cutie pies.
Obsessed with goggles!
Our friend's house. They bought their own tractor to help build it.
July 4th fireworks (on July 3rd). I stayed in the room with the baby.
The July 4th parade! We were supposed to be in it but we missed it. Oops.
The welcomer.
No one else would wear the headbands.
Scenic float trip! The girls stayed with a sitter! We had so much fun. We were really cold.
A bald eagle!
Lunch afterwards!
My little hat girl
