Updates!

Hi there,

This has been an adventurous week! It began with Thor getting neutered on Monday. Poor guy has been wearing a cone all week - which earned him the nickname "Conehead". He hasn't figured out that his head is bigger than it used to be, so he is constantly running into people and things. Here are some sad (but cute) pictures of our little Conehead. Luckily he is healing well and we will take the cone off tonight. Mom, why are you doing this to me?
Nala: Haha - Troublemaker!
Thor: I'm so sad.

In other news, Brian and I had our baby check-up appointment today. It was really emotional for me. I was afraid something had happened to the baby (just because I'm a worry-wart- there was no reason to think this). I lost 4 pounds which the doctor said is fine, but he'd like to see me start gaining soon. The fat on my body seems to be repositioning because I'm getting quite a pooch in my tummy area and pants are a little bit looser in my butt and legs. Perhaps this is because I no longer button them?

I asked the Dr. to do another ultrasound. Although we couldn't have the "good" ultrasound, he brought in a handheld machine to ease my worries a little bit. The baby was upside down (ready to pop out in 6 months) and it kicked me! Dr. Tsui said - "Oh it's kicking you." I started laughing which shook the whole ultrasound but I couldn't help it. It was just so emotional to see our baby and his little heartbeat.

We have another check-up on December 10th and then we have the "anatomical/structural" on December 24th. What a perfect Christmas present! To find out the gender of our adorable baby. Oh, and I don't have much of a belly but this is what I do have. On Sunday I will be out of the first trimester which is just SO exciting!

My pooch last Sunday - it's grown since then!

Hi Trishie...I enjoyed the photos. Poor Thor in his not-fun collar, but at least he'll be welcomed back at doggie day care. I also eagerly read the report of your doctor visit, the first kick, & a glimpse at the upside down world of baby George. I think of you a lot...how could I not?
With much love always,
Susie XOXOXO
