Hawaii

We had a great time in Hawaii and are still adjusting to our return. We began in Lanai where we stayed at a hotel on the beach. It was beautiful. We flew into Maui and had to take a boat over to Lanai - on the way we saw TONS of humpbacks and we even saw some breaching the water. One jumped out vertically! It was amazing. In Lanai there was a pod of about 70-80 Spinner dolphins. Brian didn't want me in the water because it was a little rough and there's some lava rock there - so he didn't want me to get hurt. Therefore I didn't get to swim with the dolphins but I did watch them play as they jumped out of the water, spinning in midair before splashing back into the ocean.

Then we went to Maui. We stayed in Kapalua, which is the windy side of the island. Good for surfing; not particularly great for vegging out. Regardless, we got the hotel to comp a little Clam Shell by the pool, which we greatly enjoyed. We felt very spoiled laying by the pool, covered from the sun, with a steady stream of strawberry smoothies and virgin lava flows. YUM!

The pictures here are listed in opposite order - so the first one on here is the last one we took (that I cared to post). You'll notice the growth of my tummy along the way! Baby George grows a half pound per week so my belly is really getting bigger at a fast pace.
Doesn't Brian look adorable in his hat?!

I think the woman who took this photograph had never seen a camera before. It was awfully funny to watch.

There are whales - I swear.

In Lanai

This was either our first or second night.

This shirt doesn't do anything to hide the bump!

Arriving at the hotel we got lei'd immediately.

I should also let you know that I will defend my dissertation proposal on May 6th but I moved the qualifying paper defense. I have not rescheduled it as of yet, but I was pushing myself too hard. I'd rather enjoy the last little bit of my pregnancy....Tomorrow I will be 32 weeks! Hard to believe!
I had a dream last night that I saw his face - his cute little face - and I held his soft body against me. It woke me up at 3 am and I couldn't go back to sleep. He was the most adorable baby I've ever seen. Simply perfect - and I can't wait to meet him!

Trish! I love your Hawaii pictures, it looks like you guys had so much fun! I've never been and we're hoping to take a trip there this summer. Your belly looks gorgeous, especially in your bikini pictures. It's been so much fun to watch it grow, I can't believe you have less than 2 months! Also, I think you're smart not to stress yourself out with school in thest next several weeks. Wasn't it hard to come back from spring break?!
