Halloween Week (25)

Yet another fun week in the George household! Hunter got to celebrate his very first Halloween and boy was he cute. To begin the week he held his sippy cup all on his own!

On Tuesday we had a family dinner because my niece, Tessa, turned 1! Here is Vicki, Tessa and Nate - and we all recognize the stud in front! Next to that picture are Vicki and me with our little kiddos.

On Wednesday I go to a Mommy N Me class. This week we were supposed to bring our costumes. Given my lack of sleep (he's been up every 1-2 hours for a week) I forgot. Oops. Anyhow, here are some of the babies. Hunter seems to want Keegan's pacifier and is working on unattaching it so he can have it to himself! Troublemaker!

This is Hunter's newest thing: PLEASE pick me up Mom! But like everything else, he says it with a smile on his face.

Beautiful Bridget and her little dinosaur.

They're buddies! Look how they hold hands!

Here's the little man, stealing the show in class. He has quite a little personality on him and will scream (loudly) if he feels he is not getting enough attention. Luckily most people find this endearing.

Baby Anabel is expressing empathy for the screaming goldfish. So sad. Evidently she did not like her costume.

Is this look as devious to all of you as it is to me? What a cute little troublemaker, or "terror" as his shirt claims.

While visiting with Ryan and Nora at Peet's, Hunter went on all fours on my lap. I was excited and was showing Ryan how he went on all fours, when he lept forward into the table!! Poor kid starting screaming, and I thought it was just because it surprised him. However, I found that he had a great big bump on his cute little face. He cried just as much when I was applying ice as he did when he hit his little face. By Friday the mark was noticeably smaller, and by Saturday it was very light (barely visible). Good thing because we had our professional 6 month pictures on Saturday morning! If you'd like a sneak peek at the first five, go to: blueberryskyphotography.blogspot.com

Then, on Friday night we went to Karen and Ian's (Anabel) for a Halloween party. They were experts at it, especiall considering that they are from England and don't celebrate Halloween. It was fun to see everyone in costume. Brian was a gangster, Hunter was a pumpkin and I was Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz.

Our pumpkin only made it until about 6:30 before he'd had enough. I was talking to someone when I realized that his plushy costume also made a very good pillow, and he was asleep! Family portrait

Mindi, James and Jasmine won my costume award for the evening: Jasmine was a lobster, Mindi a waitress, and James - the chef! How creative and cute! The Smith family also looked quite adorable, but you'll have to ask me if you want to know what Rhett was!

Ryan, me and Brittaney with our little ones.

Earlier that day I took a nap on the floor with my other little boy, Thor. Isn't he such a sweet dog?

On Saturday morning, as we waited for Julie the photographer to arrive, Hunter played with his toys. Doesn't he look like such a little stud in his unzipped velour sweatshirt?

On Saturday night we went out with Kaew and Eric. They are always so much fun (and I LOVE her haircut!).

Before dinner, we dropped Hunter off at his Aunt Vicki and Uncle Nate's house, so he could hang out with his big cousin.

Hunter wanted to take off after his cousin, but doesn't quite have the coordination (or strength) to do so. I think he'll crawl in the next month or so. He REALLY wants to move!

Hunter was giving Tessa a back massage, and she was enjoying it.

On Sunday, Tessa celebrated her first birthday at our house with family and friends.

This is Nate's side of the family, his parent's flew in just for the birthday party! What wonderful grandparents!

Hunter and Daddy are posing for a cute picture. Aren't they the CUTEST?!

Tessa and her buddy, Aitana, standing (like big girls do!).

Vicki's gorgeous, talented brother cooked lunch for all of the party-goers. What an excellent big brother!

Aitana is showing off her new skill (walking) and toting a balloon around the house, while Tessa (and her parents) opened gifts...

Tessa was a good sport for awhile, until she got bored and crawled into a corner to watch the balloons.

Hunter, meanwhile, went for a ride on Mommy's shoulders....

Uncle Jeff held him for the very first time at Tessa's birthday! He looks thrilled! Then Aunty Lil held him...
And the cake...always a highlight of the one year old birthday party...

Although she wasn't interested in eating the cake, we all had fun enjoying the pumpkin shaped cake Vicki provided for everyone else. YUM!

Then we took a family picture of Vicki's side of the family.

That night we went out to celebrate Brian's mom's birthday. Hunter, as usual, was quite smiley. I don't know how we got such a fun, cute, smiley, happy baby. It's a rare moment when he's not smiling and I can't pinpoint EXACTLY what is bothering him. Unfortunately, before his 6 month pictures we had to wake him up from a nap and he was pretty constipated. He smiled a little bit, but he wasn't his usual happy self.
Below the first picture was taken when Hunter was 7 days old, the second picture was taken when Hunter was almost 6 months. Tessa is still beating up on him (and I'm not sure it will ever change) but I like the idea of them hanging out together - as buddies.
