We slept quite well that night, we didn't know it would be the ONLY night we slept well. Hunter decided in the following nights that it was GREAT fun to have Mommy and Daddy right next to his crib and that he would wake us up (mostly me) for hours at a time in the middle of the night.
We split our time between two hotels, and we definitely preferred the first one. It was gorgeous and we had easy access to free food all day long because we were on the concierge level. The pool was heated to about 82, which made it easy to get in and play. Hunter LOVES the water. No sooner would we put our stuff on the lounges than Hunter would start jumping up and down and walking over to the water. He'd often get too excited, knock himself forward and crawl as quickly as he could. While this is cute, it worries me that he has no fear of the water. Anyhow, we'd quickly hop into the water where he would splash, walk or be carried around smiling the whole time. He sure is a pleasure.
It was surprising to us that nothing was "Mexico priced". Food in Cancun is as expensive as food in Hawaii which was shocking to us, and we were completely unprepared for it. We ate almost entirely at the resorts, but that didn't stop mommy and Hunter from getting sick. I got over it very quickly, but Hunter is still on the mend. He got a severe diaper rash while we were there and diarrhea. He was in a normal, happy baby mood when he wasn't in pain from the diaper rash, but it was sad to see. Although we had fun in Cancun I don't think it will be a future destination for us, at least not for awhile.
BUT, while we were there we met a lot of people. Everyone was very nice and we enjoyed getting to know the other tourists and the people who lived there. Hunter is a real conversation starter so we met just about everyone in the hotels. He would just raise his eyebrows and flash a grin and people were hooked. We had several offers to babysit him (which we did not take people up on) and we had people offer to take him home with them. Numerous women proclaimed their love for him, which i expect will continue for the remainder of his life. At one point he had some female college students all googly eyed over how cute he is. Not surprising considering how cute his Daddy is.
We are happy to be home, in our own beds. I am finally catching up on my sleep because now that we have Hunter at home, he is sleeping through the night again. He is starting to feel better (or poop less) which I attribute to his diet of bananas, rice cereal and formula. I think I might add a few more items to the diet today because he seems to be ok. He is now walking better and has taken 13 steps in a row! He only stops walking when he gets too excited and falls over or when he gets scared that he's actually doing it! We are so happy to have this little guy - he is a real pleasure and makes time feel even more worthwhile.
I am in full birthday-planning mode. I cannot believe he is almost 1! Next Saturday is his 11 month birthday and then we're in the homestretch. We go to Vegas on the 17th for Jeff and Holly's bachelor/bachelorette parties and then his birthday is the next main thing.
Let us not forget that my wonderful husband's birthday is around the corner, Wednesday the 8th. I started dating a 21 year old, and now he's 29. What an old man!
Enjoy the pictures and feel free to leave comments. I love to hear your thoughts on our adventures. Have a great week.

That cotton candy looks YUMMY!!! I love the shot of you and Hunter in the infinity pool. Much like some of your cruise pictures, that picture could totally be an ad for the resort!
