On Wednesday Brian turned 29. Yes. That's right. We started dating when he was 21 and now he's 29. I keep teasing him that I'm ready for the upgraded version. I mean really, my computer keeps getting upgraded, so why can't my husband? In reality (don't ever tell him this or I'll swear it isn't true), I think he gets better with age. I've watched him grow from a college student, to a law student, to a lawyer, business owner and, most importantly, husband and father. I see changes in him that are amazing. He's come into himself. He's grown into this mature, social, extremely smart man. It's not like he wasn't smart when I met him, but he's learned so much from his experiences that he is just this incredible person who I feel lucky to know, let alone be married to. I always tell people that when I married Brian I loved him, but now I'm just in awe of him. He is a more phenomenal person than I ever dreamed I would find and I feel so lucky that he is my baby daddy.
Don't tell him I said that :-) I like to make him think I want an upgrade. Who would give him a hard time if I didn't? No one. See, that's why he needs me.
We had the Burke's over for dinner on his actual birthday because there's nothing more fun than celebrating with friends. Especially good friends. It was really fun, and we had carrot cupcakes to help us ring in the new year. Hunter and Keagan were given mini-cupcakes that they weren't quite sure how to handle. I think Hunter threw his and Keagan maybe too a lick of icing (maybe?). It was cute to watch anyways.
Saturday was Hunter's first haircut. I didn't cry. I was very emotional about it though. I know he needed it because every time he blinked his hair moved, which caused him to blink again. We went to a special kid's place in Orange County where he could sit in an airplane and watch cartoons. The kids before him was 2 and there for his first haircut. He screamed bloody murder, tried to escape the plane and was generally unhappy. Then it was Hunter's turn. Wouldn't you know that he sat there, pretty calmly, and let the woman cut his hair. He did squirm a little bit, mostly because he wanted to see what was on the floor. I was so proud of him. BUT he looks more and more like a little boy instead of my baby. My little tiny, infant baby. I need another one. It's decided :-)
Saturday night we went to Spago to celebrate the big 2-9. Hunter stayed home with Lindsay, our wonderful babysitter. Wolfgang Puck came around to say "hello" to everyone and he was sweet enough to pose for a picture with us.
Sunday we celebrated Brian's birthday with Grandma and Grandpa. The grandparents got to check out Hunter's walking, which is fabulous. He took 27 steps today in a row and i decided that I could just say "he's walking" instead of counting how many steps he could take. I think he needs shoes though. I let him walk around at the car wash and now his feet are pretty black from the pavement. Kids are supposed to be dirty, but he likes to suck on his feet. No good.
This week should be pretty uneventful. Seeing friends and hanging out. I like weeks like this. Oh! Daddy and Hunter started swim lessons last week, which is so exciting. I think that's about it. Take care and have a wonderful week!

Great blog! Sounds like a fun week and Hunters haircut looks great! You are so right that it makes him look more like a little boy than a baby...
Oh my gosh! What a big change! He's so adorable though, either way. So I think Children's Place made more money this Easter than they would on black Friday. Every baby boy I know, literally, got his Easter outfit from there - Jude included. I haven't posted pictures yet, but I will.
Also cool that you said hello to Monsieur Puck!
How darling! :)
I love his Easter outfit. And what a big boy. Looks like he did very well for his first hair cut.
I love Hunter's new haircut! It makes him look like a little toddler. So glad Brian had a great 29th Birthday! Glad to see you two got out sans baby for a night :) Looks like you had a great Easter and are doing so well. Miss all of you!!!
