April has been a supremely fun month! One of our new friend's turned 1, so here Landon and him are partying at the water table! Landon soon dumped water all over himself and was running around in shoes and a diaper.
Hunter joined his little brother at the water table. Maybe we should get one of these since he loves it SO much!
And they had a pinata. I love his form. When the big kids were eating Landon climbed into the bouncy house. He was basically in heaven. It was a super fun party.
The big boys eating their pizza. Amazingly these boys are all within about 7 months of each other.
Landon loves pizza. LOVE.
The day before Easter we had an Easter egg hunt for some friends at church. We are trying to get to know people and thought this might be the way to do it. We had a lot of fun but felt bad that we couldn't have everyone over at our house. Maybe next time!
Our missionaries wearing bunny ears.
This little blur was Landon running for eggs! We had a hunt for kids under 2, 2-5 and then over 5. The kids loved it!
This is my mothering hero. She has 4 kids (the youngest of whom is a month old) and she always has open arms for another baby. I want to be like her!
These are probably Hunter's 2 favorite people in the whole wide world. Coco and Portia. He is in love.
Jessica was so nice to take Landon for me so I could mingle and talk to people at the party. He was pretty happy with her too!
The 2-5 year old hunt. Serious business.
BBQ buddies. These wonderful guys were in charge of cooking for the group.
Jess, Landon and Portia.
All of the kids who were at the party. Can you find Landon?
Coco loves Landon and the feeling is pretty mutual. She is so good with babies and we are so thankful for her!
One of the kids threw a ton of rocks in the pool. I was really upset and *might* have lost my temper (something that happens about once every three years) with the kids. 2 good samaritans jumped in the pool to fish everything out for us. Well, one of them was pushed by his wife, but he was kind of asking for it ;-)
Landon on Easter.
We went to Katy's house for Easter. Katy is Jen's sister and one of my good high school friends. She has a little boy who is about 3.5 months older than Hunter. She was having a big party and her brother and sister, Nick and Stephanie, were in town. I hadn't seen them in years and it was SO nice to give them both big hugs! Hunter and Tommy had so much fun riding scooters together.
Landon found juice and was set. How cute is this little man?!
Beautiful siblings - Stephanie, Nick and Katy. I took a picture after my baptism of Katy, Luke and Jen under this same tree. If only we could get all 5 of them together!
Did someone say cupcakes? We went to a little birthday party after music class on Monday. The boys were clearly more focused on cupcakes than music.
Then they got to play in the pool! Hunter is still talking about how much fun he had in this pool.
And Landon loved the water table, again! These two little boys have big brothers the same age as Hunter. Could this church be any more perfect for us?!
We went to Seaview with some friends and Riley rocked out in her hat and sunglasses. She is so cute.
Landon adores slides. He can get up there and come down all by himself! So impressive!
We went for Persian food and belly-dancing with some church friends. Of course I got pulled up on the dance floor to dance with the belly dancer. Being from Vegas and being the outgoing person I am, I could have cared less. It was really fun. It was a "cultural" experience, as the girl who organized it is half Persian and grew up going to places like this. I think the guys had never seen anything like this and were somewhat embarrassed. It made for some good laughs.
Greg and Brian trying to get out of it....
Jessica dancing for her hubby's visa card. These two are adorable.
The girls! I have had so much fun getting to know these women over the past 3-4 months. They are all just amazing people, beautiful inside and out! I look forward to so many more fun experiences like this one.
In other news I just re-joined the gym and went for the first time in 9 months today! It felt GREAT! I feel bad being away from the boys so much between dissertation stuff and now the gym, but it is worth it for the stress relief! I need to take care of my body and the baby in my belly! Doctor appointment tomorrow - I get to hear the little heartbeat :-) There isn't a happier sound if you ask me.
By the way, Hunter has been saying the funniest things. I really need to start writing them down somewhere. Today we were talking about how his best friend moved away (he is so sad about this). I said "But Keagan is coming up for your birthday party!" Hunter replied "Aww, that's so sweet." It was so funny.
The other day we were out at dinner and I took Landon outside because he was throwing a fit. Brian got Hunter and came outside and told me that Hunter was being so mean to him inside. I asked what he said and Brian replied "Daddy, please stop talking. I can't hear your voice right now." Brian was really offended by this but I was kind of amused because this is what I say to Hunter when I cannot take the sound of one more "why?" or one more story or one more demand.....
Gotta go - the missionaries are here!
