Aspen is 8 months old

Aspen is 8 months old today.  I have spent a lot of time lately pondering her age.  It seems that her growth is in fast forward.  She is 2/3 of a year old and it makes me horribly sad.  I saw a 7 week old the other day and could not believe how big Aspen was next to her! She still looks like a baby to me sometimes.  Other times, I look at her, and see her eating big kid food or playing with her toys and I realize how big she is.

She is 8 months old and these are the facts about her.
She has 3 teeth, all on the bottom.
She spends about 80% of her awake time, eating.
She smiles all the time and at everyone but is still a mommy's girl.
She loves eating everything!
She can sit and roll and scootch her body backwards.
She can get up on all 4s and rocks but then cries and whines.  I don't think she'll crawl anytime soon.
She prefers being held to anything else.
She wears 6-12 month clothes.
She takes one nap a day (2-3 hours) and sleeps 12-15 hours at night (yes! Straight!!)

Her brothers still adore her.  Hunter is getting better with her and loves to come visit her.  When she is sad or whining he goes to her and cheerfully says "Aspen Aspen!" in the same tone I say it, and she usually smiles at him.  He seems to love her when he pays attention to her but he is otherwise very busy.

Landon adores Aspen.  He is always narrating what she is doing. "Aspen is touching that!" "Aspen is eating!" It makes me laugh.  Tonight I was nursing her to sleep and he came into her room (which is not allowed when she is going to sleep) and said "good night Princess." Then he gave her a kiss on her forehead.  So cute.

Not Aspen related, but Landon related, I've recently learned that Landon is shy. Isn't that funny? The kid talks nonstop around me, but I've noticed that when friends come over, he usually goes upstairs by himself for awhile.  He doesn't always like to play with other kids and often separates himself.  I'm not used to shy kids (have you met Hunter) and had no idea he was shy.  I guess I'll have to watch him a little bit more closely and make sure he is making friends.  He's still my little man, no matter how cute and shy he is.
