Brian's birthday!

Brian had a birthday. My old man is getting older....and more handsome. On Monday, his birthday, I tried to spoil him as much as I could.  My friend works at a flight safety company where they do flight simulator training for pilots.  This is actually where they teach pilots how to fly fancy planes.  Brian has ALWAYS wanted to fly a plane and I have NEVER wanted him to fly a plane. When I heard about this, I thought it was a happy medium. So we dropped Hunter off at school, the Littles at Megan's and were on our way.
 33 never looked so good!
That's it! The Gulfstream IV. It actually moved and felt like a real plane. You could dim the outside and make it look like dawn, dusk, day or night. You could make it turbulent, make it feel like there was a fire or an engine quit. It was really amazing. Because we each had a real copilot, we didn't crash.
That smile and the twinkle in his eye are two of the things that made me fall in love with him. Brian smiles a lot, but I don't get his boyish grin very frequently.
 Learning about the controls.
 Taking off!
My turn! I took off in Long Beach and landed at John Wayne
I love being Brian's co-pilot...in EVERY sense of the word ;-)
Later that day we went to the spa, where we each had 80 minute massages. Then we rushed home to make him a yummy steak with sweet potatoes, spinach and mushrooms, asparagus, corn on the cob and an amazing cake! I made a cake that we dreamed up together - sponge cake with pastry cream filling. The outside had a layer of whipped cream and then it was topped in chocolate ganache. It was amazing. We ate way too much cake last week and my pants are tight.
I had to post this picture because it was so darn cute. I had the Spjutes over for a playdate and we made ice cream. This is them eating their ice cream. I love these boys.
