Oops. I feel off the gratitude train. Choo choo. It certainly wasn't from a lack of gratitude, or a lack of thinking about it. I have lots more to share, so here it goes.
.) I'm thankful for cooler weather. That includes the rain we had the other day. The smell of it. The sound of it. The way our air is clear afterwards.
.) I'm thankful for snow. I can't wait to be in the snow next week.
.) I'm thankful for hot chocolate. mmmm.
.) And whipped cream. Yea, definitely whipped cream!
.) I'm thankful for baby hugs. and toddler kisses.
.) I'm thankful for Landon, who loves me to the moon and back. He thanks God for me every night. Sweet little boy.
.) I'm thankful for patience. And for learning and growing as a person (and mom).
.) I'm thankful that Brian learned how to ski because now I have things i can buy him for Christmas :-)
.) I'm thankful for Thanksgiving. It's my favorite holiday because it reminds me of growing up cooking with my mom. I miss my mom.
.) I'm thankful that my mom taught me how to cook. I'm really good at it.
.) I'm thankful that my brother and I still have a competition every yr to see who has a nicer plate for Thanksgiving. I let him win this yr because he had a name tag. My plate had more color though.
.) I'm thankful for our friends the Yees, who came over for dessert and made Thanksgiving more enjoyable.
.) I'm thankful to be a teacher at church. I learn from listening to people discuss the topics.
.) I'm thankful for God.
.) I'm thankful to be entrusted with 4 little lives. I hope and pray that I will continue to be blessed with more and more patience.
.) I'm thankful for baby kicks in my belly. There is no better feeling.
.) I'm thankful for recipes that are gluten free/dairy free and nut free. Perhaps this is why I have only gained 7 pounds this pregnancy. My tummy hurts all the time. Cutting these items from my diet is helping. Sort of :-/
.) I'm thankful for Brian, who cleaned all of the dishes I used in my 8.5 hours of cooking on Thanksgiving. Yes. 8.5 I cooked from 7:30-4:30 with a 30 minute break for a shower.
.) I'm thankful for Jesus Christs' sacrifice and his obedience to his father. If only we could all be so obedient.
.) I'm grateful for the season of giving. For the season of Christmas. For the people who remember Christ in their hearts.
.) I'm grateful that I love to serve and that I find so many opportunities to do it.
.) I'm grateful for my birthday - that I have the divine privilege of getting a year older. So many people do not.
.) I'm grateful for every moment I have with my children.
.) I'm grateful for babysitters too.
.) And parks! I'm grateful for parks where my kids are allowed to run and be crazy.
.) I'm grateful that my kids know how to talk and be polite.
.) I'm grateful that my kids are so darn lovable.
.) And good-looking. They are really good-looking.
.) I'm grateful for friends who invite us over to their houses. It's fun to be out of the insanity of my house.
.) I'm grateful for places that take our used toys as donations. I'm grateful that they are out of our house.
.) I'm grateful to Brian for putting up with my redecorating and re-organizing.
.) I'm grateful to Sarah (Jeff's girlfriend) for sharing her 40% off discount at PB kids. We just bought an entire new room for the girls!
.) I'm grateful that I'm having 2 girls after my 2 boys. It's what I've always wanted.
.) I'm grateful that Brian and I know how to work together to figure out the world and how to navigate it together.
.) I'm grateful for my friends who are a good example for me at church. Especially when I'm sick of church.
.) I'm grateful for Megan for planning a birthday shindig for me with my girlfriends.
.) I'm grateful that we can travel and do fun things with the kids.
.) I'm grateful for the love I feel from my family.
.) And for the new friends I'm making at school.
.) And for my adopted mom, Vicki Allred who teaches me so much about so many things.
.) And for Melody for including me in her girls' nights.
.) And for old friends who have known me FOREVER. And they love me anyways.
.) I'm grateful for chocolate cake (gluten free, of course).
.) And for other people cooking for us.
.) And for nice hotels. One of my main joys in life.
.) Oh - and spas! with massages. Oh how i love massages.
.) I'm grateful for my health
.) And for Maisy's health
.) And for my dogs. Especially Thor, who sleeps on my feet every night.
.) and for night time snuggles from Brian.
I've hit my 50 (5 a day for 10 days) but I could just keep going. I'm grateful for this activity that has drawn my attention to all that I have when I feel deprived of all that I want (sleep, freedom, etc). I'm grateful that Brian keeps asking what I want for my birthday and I really just don't need anything. A trip to Colorado with my family - that sounds like heaven. Too bad I can't ski, but it's temporary. Next year I can!
