Hunter is 6. I cannot believe that he is 6. How did that happen? The days are long....but oh the years. He is a real joy right now. I can't really explain it. He talks constantly and asks a million questions. Some of the questions he asks are just for the sake of asking questions. But....he is so wonderful. The talking and the questions just don't bother me. He is kind and loving. He loves snuggles. He has the most charming way about him. I really think that this boy will make millions of dollars based on people just liking him. He is SO likable. Charming. Charismatic. He is such a helper. He is ALWAYS helping me. He helps with setting the table and with his siblings. He never says "No" when I ask him to do something. This kid....I am lucky to be his mom. I think he is summed up in the first interaction I had with him on his birthday (Mother's day). He walked into my room and I said "Happy birthday Hunter!" and he replied with "Happy Mother's Day, Mommy." What a sweet boy. He is thoughtful and aware of other people's feelings. It's extraordinary for a 6 yr old. I adore this boy. Adore.
On Hunter's birthday, we hung out at home in the morning. We opened presents and relaxed in our pajamas. Then we went to church. When we came home from church we went in the pool. Can I tell you? I just sat and watched them play in the pool. Rachel was over, so she and Brian were in the pool while I held Maisy. I realize that I don't think I've ever been happier. All 3 of those kids were in heaven: jumping into the water, swimming, feeling free and happy! I realized that I was just sitting there, quietly observing the joy on their faces. I am so enjoying being their mom and watching them grow and change. I'm enjoying how different they all are and I love how their relationships change. Whereas Landon used to dislike Aspen, he now often chooses to play with Aspen instead of Hunter. It's really funny to see how these dynamics shift. Aspen is obsessed with Maisy, but plays with Landon every chance she gets. Of course, every morning Aspen and Hunter get their special time together after Landon is at school before Hunter goes to school.
Anyhow, I love being a mom. I feel blessed to be the mom of these 4 beautiful souls. Happy birthday to my amazing 6 yr old! Thanks for making me a mommy to these little guys, Brian.
