We went to Costa Rica. It was gorgeous and the wildlife was insane. There was actually a screen over our patio and windows so that monkeys and birds couldn't come in and get us! We had a great adventure while there! It was almost like camping!!! Just kidding, Brian!
Everyday we had to choose between the beach and the pool. Somedays, we did both. That's just the kind of family we are. Landon prefers the beach, Hunter prefers the pool. Daisy is impossible at the beach, but she's also impossible at the pool....but more impossible at the beach....
This was me getting ready to go. The pictures are out of order, so bare with me.They found an iguana
Oh this was my breakfast - it was amazing. Black beans with a green pepper that was full of eggs and some cheese and a small quesadilla with steamed veggies. So delicious! The food on this trip was the best part (second to my hubby, of course!)
I love these two! There was a coloring table for the kids, so Landon walked Maisy over there. We overheard Landon telling Aspen that Maisy is his best friend, but she is his second best friend. I just love these kids.
*squeeze*
I love hotels that bring me a Pack n play by the pool. It is so nice to...uh um....contain her!
They had ice cream by the pool so we let the kids indulge. Yum yum!
Ice! I finally found something to keep this kid quiet! For a minute...or so.
Howlers!
Sunset.
Landon is our moodiest child, but when he is happy there is truly nothing better.
Easter! On Easter they did a big egg hunt on the beach followed by a family treasure hunt. Hunter and I did the hunt and took 2nd out of 50 families.
And these 2. Aspen is truly the most patient and loving sister that I have ever met. Daisy is lucky to have her. There is a LOT of love in our family and Maisy gets quite grumpy about all the love, but she will appreciate it one day.
Huge iguana!
The view from our room.
Egg hunter.
My beauty.
Queen for a day
Egg hunting
Look at this crazy iguana!
2nd place! I ran Hunter pretty hard. I'm a *little* bit competitive. I was bummed we didn't take first.
Maisy slept through the treasure hunt
Happy boy
With our trophy.
So proud!
Such a good Daddy!
This suit....it kills me.
Handsome little man
Cutie pie face
Ice cream!
And these 2....
Watching the monkeys from our room
Monkeys on the beach!
White faced monkeys (wi-fi monkeys)
Brian rented a jet ski to take the kids. Hunter LOVED it. The other 2...they thought it was okay. Interestingly, Hunter is afraid of roller coasters and the other 2 love them. Who knew?
These 2 have a special bond. I see it playing out kind of funny - The boys and girls are close to one another. Hunter and Aspen are close, as are Landon and Maisy. Even Landon and Aspen have their moments. I'm waiting for Hunter to be interested in Maisy and we will have all iterations.
Chillin'!
Aspen is really swimming now! Watch the following sequence (we had to give Daddy a thumbs up every time we swam!)
What a handsome peanut. Love this boy.
Oh my goodness. This face.
Out to dinner. I got to dress the 3 of us who look nice. And Brian looks nice too. Those boys though.....
Waiting for the car ride.
My sillies
Watching the sunset!
Landon brought balloons all the way from home so that Daddy would have balloons outside his door (as per the tradition) when he woke up on his birthday. We stayed up late blowing them up after relegating Daddy to his bedroom.
He got a golf shirt and cap and some cards!
Oh this bikini!!!!!!
What better place to have lunch?
And ice cream - for Daddy's birthday!
Then chocolate cake!
Maisy enjoyed it.
And then we had dinner just the 2 of us
This is kind of a long story. We will say that the hotel isn't run as most 4 Seasons are. I told them that, and that I wasn't happy. We were by the pool and the General Manager came down to see us and chat with us about my Trip Advisor review. I told him that the hotel wasn't properly maintained and that it was dangerous. After talking to him, not 1 minute later, a big gust of wind came, snapped the big wooden umbrella in half and heaved it into my head giving me a concussion. Suffice it to say that they spent the entire day on Friday trying to make it up to us. It started with this Hacienda full of treats. I said to Brian "Nothing says 'Im sorry I gave you a concussion' like a bunch of treats." I'm feeling better today, day 3, but am not back to normal.
I love this face.
Yay for my cute swimsuit!
We had fun. We didn't "do" Costa Rica, the way I imagine we will one day. I don't think we will go back to the 4Seasons. We had a fun time together, as we always do and I am grateful for the days we get with our 4 little ones. Before long they will be too big and not think it's cool to hang out with us. Cherish these moments, right?
