We went down to the beach on 3/15 for Easter pictures. This is a picture of Mayra, our nanny. We had her for 5 weeks while I recovered from surgery. She was very helpful.
These pictures came out beautifully. There were some solitary photos of Maisy for her 2 year birthday!
Maisy loves her time with Daddy at My Gym. He takes her every Friday for some fun Gym time!
Little Ms. Naughty was showing off her cutest cuteness after being so unbelievably naughty. She is so cute. I will keep her.
This is our office. We are transforming it into a school classroom for next year. We will homeschool our boys. Aspen will remain at the Montessori and Maisy will probably start 1/2way through the year. This is a kind of "before" although I am in the middle of deconstructing and reorganizing. It's a mess :-)
Art Zone for a birthday party! Oh how Maisy loved it! And, of course, Aspen always loves it!
Maisy's first painting!
Jocelyn is 1 day older than Maisy! Happy birthday!
No party is successful unless you leave without pants.
Ty! I've known Ty since he was a few months old. Hunter and Ty have started having sleepovers and tons of playdates. I love this boy so much - such a sweet soul.
After a cub scout hike the boys went to Terranea for lunch with some of their parents.
This girl. How I adore her. Right now she is my hard child. She's not sure where she fits in the family. She is not the baby and she is not a big kid. She spends hours at school, she makes huge messes and starts fights when she is at home. She is, however, the best big sister in the whole wide world and has the most sweet and tender nature....when she wants to....She is wonderful and maddening and....finding her way. As a mom it is incredibly difficult to watch her find her way. I want to help her and guide her - and I do - when I can. She is such a beauty, in her heart and physically.
So. We bought a house and this is the view. This was a particularly ugly and cruddy day, as the snow has been melting on and off over the past 2 months. But.....WOW.
The hot tub.
This is probably my favorite feature of the house because I LOVE fireplaces. It is a double sided fireplace. The TV will be removed as soon as we take ownership of the house. It will be the first thing I request.
View from the entry way (we are refurnishing everything, so no inside photos of the house for you!)
Brian and I flew to Jackson and then the next day we flew to Vegas and then the next day we flew home. It was a whirlwind but we had so much fun spending the time together.
While we were gone our amazing Rachel took the kids on fun dates so they wouldn't be home all the time. She is just the sweetest.
This baby was SO happy to see me when we got home. The feeling was so mutual. I missed her a ton! We are not really a nanny family. I enjoy being with my children (even when they drive me insane). I missed being with them even when I was in town before I left. I'm so appreciating the moments with them now that I get to be with them full time.
And then we got ready to celebrate a princess.
This girl LOVES the water. If I even start to remove items of clothing she does the same and yells "Show! Show!" as in "Shower". She bathes at least once a day. Squeaky clean, this kid!
Sina - another of Hunter's besties. This is another sweet and thoughtful child.
Aren't these cute? We got 36 for the birthday party!
For the Easter egg hunt
Waiting for the egg hunt. Who doesn't love an egg hunt?!
Go Maisy go!
I adore these little girls. What a great party it was!
And that's a happy little Mouse!
With 2 friends, who also love Minnie!
She LOVES the singing. This is the most musical kid I have ever met.
We always end parties in our undies.
And then there is this. On Fridays Aspen goes to dance class. Maisy found this leotard in the closet and got dressed. Of course she did! How many other 2 year olds can fully dress and undress themselves? I'm waiting for her to start doing laundry!
These girls! Eek!
I leveled our home library in preparation for homeschooling. Doesn't it look awesome? I also have a genre library downstairs.
Easter morning is always magical. Easter was a favorite holiday for me as a kid. I have great memories of running around with my brother and finding eggs, eating chocolate for breakfast and playing with new toys. We put an emphasis on legos instead of chocolate and got them each one new toy.
This girl discovered peeps and had consumed 10/12 by 2 pm.
We even dyed Easter eggs. I've avoided doing this in past years, but it was really fun.
Easter egg Minnie Mouse cake! Let's party!
Super fast Landon was both stealthy and nimble. He was out big Easter egg winner. As the boys collected, I said "once your basket is full, you need to sit out." Hunter called out "I'm splitting my eggs with Aspen!" and Landon called "I'm sharing with Maisy!" Sweet perfection.
Done!
Painting birthday cookies!
It seems as though everyone got the memo....Maisy loves Minnie Mouse.
Ms. Spunk
Our new sitter, Jen, is pretty darn awesome. She and her boyfriend came for Easter dinner at our house, along with Meema, Peepaw and Rachel. It was also a family birthday party.
2! I can't believe my sweet babe is 2.
I'd like to title this photo #jealousy
For her birthday, North Italia gave her homemade donuts.
Best friends forever.
With the Easter bunny. #markdejohnphotography
She insisted on wearing the hat
