I feel sad that Hunter is getting so old so quickly. I love watching him grow, but I don't want this time at home with him to end. For those of you who don't know, I'm seriously considering staying at home with him. I will go back to school for the Fall semester and then make a determination, but I have a fellowship that allows me not to teach and still get paid. In addition, I'm only taking 2 courses and one is online. I'm not sure what to do at this point because the thought of being away from my munchkin breaks my heart!
Anyhow, enough of that sad stuff. Things at home are wonderful. Brian has been trying to stay home for half day on most days to help me with Hunter. He is an incredible husband - he cooks dinner every night and does the grocery shopping and errands. He is also constantly asking me if I need anything. I feel bad that he is always getting me water or helping me with something, but I do need the help.
We've been walking 4.5 miles every night with the puppies. We're doing our best not to neglect them and to get them the exercise they need. They're SUCH good dogs. Thor has taken to sitting under my feet anywhere I go and he follows me around the house like a....well, like a puppy. It's super cute, but sometimes I wish I had a third or fourth hand so I could pet him and play with him.
Life with Hunter is wonderful. We're nursing, but I've found that pumping and then giving him a bottle is often easier than having him at breast. He has a great latch and everything, but the bottle is much faster - 15 minutes instead of 45. He's putting himself on a schedule too! He takes naps during the day and then he is up and alert. I think this means I might be able to do some work while he's napping. Not terrible but I'm not SUPER happy about it either. I liked the excuse not to work :-P
I'm starting to make friends down here and I'm joining a Mommy and Me class to meet more moms. I'm pretty excited about it because everyone I've met has been just wonderful. I really LOVE Manhattan Beach! It's such a cute town.
Ok, so here are pictures from the past week....
Brian holds Hunter every night for a few hours so I can go to sleep. He hates being on his back and he hates sleeping anywhere but in our arms or on my chest. So Brian taking him gives me a few hours of sleep!
Naptime! Brian must have snapped this one while we were sleeping. This is Hunter's favorite sleeping position.
Allie and MO got married this weekend! They have a great wedding date (6/7/08). Hard to forget that one! This is me and the beautiful bride.
