Hunter is 5 weeks old! He is certainly growing too! He's out of his preemie clothes (some of them) and finally wearing clothes for 0-3 months. It's nice to see things actually fitting him. He's still long and thin, although he is beginning to put some chub on his legs.
He's hitting some of his developmental milestones. He can hold up his head and neck and seems to have a lot of control over them. If I support his little feet, he can climb up me. When I don't hold his feet he just looks like he's trying to crawl. He has been able to turn himself over for about 4-5 days now! He can't do it when he's laying flat, but when he's on my tummy he can push off and roll over. Probably the most exciting thing he has done, has been the smile. I'm SO excited that he recognizes me and will smile at me. He also looks for me in the room when he hears my voice. This is all developmentally early. Oh! And he loves to stand. He doesn't have balance, but if you keep him straight up he can support his own weight. He sure is super baby.
My aunt Donna and cousin Jenny came into town on Thursday. Immediately upon coming off the escalator my aunt took Hunter out of my arms - she was so excited to see him. She hasn't given him back since she's been here! We've made dinner for them at night and generally just enjoyed one another's company. The puppies have appreciated their presence because we can take them to the dog park now that there are people to help me.
On Sunday, Brian's first Father's Day, we had breakfast, went to the park to have a picnic and then had dinner at home. It was a wonderful day and I think Brian really appreciated being celebrated. He's SUCH a great Dad - the puppies and Hunter are all lucky to have him.
Today we went to the Long Beach Aquarium because Jenny loves undersea life. We had a lot of fun, but all of us are so tired now! Tomorrow they leave. I'll miss them, but we're seeing them in December, so it won't be TOO long without some family. In addition, Jeff and Holly are coming on Saturday! I can't WAIT to see them. Jeff is going to love meeting little Hunter.
Here are some pictures of my little Hunny Bunny from the last week. His most frequent name (that I call him) is Schmunchkin - a mixture of Shmoopy and Munchkin. He's SUCH a great baby and I feel so lucky everyday to have him.
