3 months old today!

This week went by in a blur...lucky number 13... Actually, for us number 13 is lucky, but that's another story entirely. The week started out nice and slow...

I went to Peet's by myself for coffee and Hunter looked like such a stud in his "Charm courtesy of Dad" onesie that I had to take a picture! He has a think about the camera though...when he sees the orange light that comes on just before the flash, he stops smiling. I promise he was smiling before I took this picture! And he fell asleep in his favorite place - the car seat.
Look at those feet! They are so big compared to when we brought him home. Maybe he'll take after Daddy and wear a size 15? In all honesty, I'm having trouble finding baby socks. Our Target doesn't have a very good selection and the Gap just seems a little bit pricey considering how fast he is growing. Any suggestions?
This is a friend from high school. We were lucky enough to meet up at the Grove when it was relatively not busy. We had lunch at the Cheesecake factory and then walked around a little bit. Her baby, Sabrina, is about a month younger than Hunter. She's still a tiny girl though! And so cute!
Hunter and Sabrina both fell asleep by the time we were done walking. Both Lauren and I have Zooper strollers - they are fantastic!

This is Ryan giving Nora some love at Starbuck's.
Hunter sleeps best in his swaddle. Aunty Vicki is giving us some Miracle blankets, which might work better than the regular blankets we've been using. He's a little Houdini with his left arm - he always gets it out! I think he's going to be left-handed but we won't know for sure until he's about 2 years old.
Hunter fell asleep in his Mommy's arms. He has started grabbing onto me and loves to pull my shirt down! He also pulls my hair a lot, which is why I tend to have it in a ponytail!
Yay! The highlight of my week. I made 3 great friends when I spent a summer doing research at UCLA. At the time, all 3 of us were in serious long term relationships and all were trying to get into Ph.D. programs. We just clicked and have gotten together every year for the past 5 years! In 2003 we met, 2004 Kim got married. Kim is getting her Ph.D. in Math at UT Austin (booooo!). In 2005 Brian and I got married. In 2006 Zoe got married. Zoe is getting her Ph.D. in Physics at UC Berkeley. Last year we were celebrating the fact that Katie did NOT get married and went to Vegas. This was the most fun year of all (where the girls are concerned) because we got to spend time the 4 of us. The previous years the bride was a little bit left out because she was getting married. This year everyone came to stay with us because of Hunter. The weekend was punctuated by swimming, watching Sex and the City/ the Olympics and eating. Here we are right after I picked them up from the airport...we went straight to lunch!

We are discussing the possibilities of the day...Hunter wanted to be included in the decision-making process.
The girls are waiting to go do something fun
Brian was nice enough to grill salmon for us and we made some yummy sides.
Zoe is loving baby Hunter, Nala is loving Kim and Katie is curled up in a little ball. Thor, true to form, is close enough to be involved and far enough that he doesn't want to bother anyone. Isn't he great?
Me and my other little boy, Thor. Do you think he likes being held like this? I can't tell....

Hunter being a semi-smiley baby. Notice how dressed up he is in his collared onesie and pants (thanks Aunty Alex!).
Me and Boo at dinner.
With the girls on the Strand right after dinner. Just for the record, Kim is actually taller than me - I am the shrimp in this group.

Our little family on the Strand

Sunset in Manhattan Beach...simply beautiful...just as it is every night.
Everyone! Kim, Brian, Hunter, Katie and Zoe
Katie loving little Hunter
Kim loving little Nala
Sunday morning coffee on the Strand. We walked down the beach to watch the waves and people in the water. Coffee can never be overrated with this group of girls!

Our last lunch before taking Zoe to the airport. How sad that the vacation went by so quickly! On Sunday Zoe left and then Kim. Of course, this was after introducing them to Pinkbrry so they would want to come back and visit! Katie stayed until Monday morning.Sunday evening we went to concert in the park with Morgan, Bridget and some friends of theirs. Morgan and Bridget had their baby boy, Keegan, on July 12th. Morgan is opening the wine. This was a very Manhattan Beach experience and we loved it!
The view from our seats.
Me and Hunter at the concert in the park
Hunter asleep in Daddy's arms. Such a CUTE little man!
So, that's it for this week. Monday was Hunter's 3 month birthday! I don't know how the time went SO darn fast. He turned over for the first time on Saturday (tummy to back). He's very close in getting from back to tummy - he gets to his side and then gives up on it. I'm so proud of him and in love with him!
Today, Tuesday, I went to the Farmer's market with friends and reorganized my office at school. School begins in 2 weeks which makes me VERY sad. At least the little man can come with me whenever I go!
Tomorrow is mine and Brian's 3 year wedding anniversary! Time DOES fly. We're going down to Laguna for dinner at the Montage's Studio restaurant. It's right on the ocean...I'll be sure to take pictures. True to form, we will be taking the little man with us. He's so good and we don't want to leave him with anyone yet.
Have a fantastic week!
