Baby updates

I thought I would share some of the cute things Hunter does as a big brother.  He is always willing to give Landon a hug and kiss, even when he refuses to kiss mommy or daddy.

He brings Landon a blanket whenever I am holding him.

He snuggles with Landon if Landon is on the bed.

The other day I had to run downstairs and Landon was starting to fuss.  I put him in his bassinet and quickly ran downstairs.  The bassinet is a co-sleeper, so it is very close to our bed and has an open side.  When I ran back upstairs 2 minutes later, Hunter was sitting in the end of the bassinet.  He wasn't touching Landon, he had just moved closer.  It was almost as though he wanted to say "I don't know what to do to help you, but I'm here."  It was very cute.

He always wants Landon to go "night-night" though.  Any time I am holding Landon he says "baby night night", but he is getting more tolerant of me nursing and more patient with the baby in general.

Hunter is also really into sleeping/curling up in Landon's bassinet.  As soon as I take Landon out in the morning to nurse he climbs into the bassinet and lays down like a little baby.  He's a little big for it, but he's so darn cute in there.

When Landon is sleeping, Hunter reminds me by saying "baby - night, night" and then he puts his finger to his mouth and says "shhhh!"

Hunter's language has improved drastically in the past month and I notice changes every week.  He is able to put 2-3 words together.  It's SO cute but dangerous at the same time.  We really have to watch what we say because he repeats EVERYTHING.  And he will yell at me "mammy! mammy!" then when I say "yes, baby" he tells me whatever I just said.  It's very funny.

A cute story I hadn't shared on here previously has to do with potty-training.  I've been giving Hunter M&Ms to sit on the potty.  The other day we were downstairs and he asked for chocolate, so I handed him some M&Ms.  Well, we always have a box of See's candies in our house.  He handed the M&Ms back to me and pointed to the See's box!  It looks like we have a chocolate snob on our hands already!

Landon is adorable.  He's growing so fast though!  I can already see some pretty extreme differences in him.  For one thing, the cheeks and the fat rolls on his legs are out of control cute!  Hunter never had any fat rolls, so this is all new for me.  He can support his head for a good amount of time.  I'm impressed with his strength.

He only cries when I don't feed him immediately.  Other than that he is a very laid back, easy baby.  He prefers being held over being in one of his chairs and he doesn't particularly like his swing.  He's getting more alert and was awake the other day for 5.5 hours!!  Unfortunately he didn't sleep well that night.  Last night, however, he slept for a 4.5 hour chunk!  That was a very nice treat.

Landon is now blowing bubbles, which is a developmental milestone.  He looks at you with his big bluish/gray eyes and you can't help but fall in love with him.  Totally and completely in love.  But that's true of both boys.

In other news, Mom is in her pre-pregnancy clothes!  The small ones don't fit, and the fat pants are a little big, but I am SOOOO excited that I'm wearing my 4's again!  This is a new development over the past few days.

We still need a family picture - we have to take one of the 4 of us!  I'm going to upload other photos later tonight.

That's the update!

Sounds like you are just so much in love with your princes. :)

Nice job getting back into your pre-pg clothes! I didn't get back into that size until 5 months postpartum so you amaze me!

Just love these updates. Keep 'em coming!

What a terrific record of your children's early years. I'm so glad you share them.
We are so proud of you both. As Papa says "you tend to business" and I especially am so proud of your scholastic achievements. Babies or no you got that doctorate. Hurrah! -- G'ma
