Landon is 3!

Dear Landon,

In the morning you will turn 3.  It is so hard for me to believe that you are already a big boy.  You probably have the vocabulary of a 5 or 6 year old.  You have a lot to say and you like to use big words.  You are strong minded and decide what you want out of life and go get it.  You decided to potty-train yourself at 2.5 and haven't looked back.  You are an easy traveler and a good sleeper.  Sometimes, you even sleep through the occasional accident.  You begged to go to preschool for 2 mornings a week and I let you go, but not because I wanted you to go.  You love school when Daddy drops you off, but always complain when I drop you.

You are shy around people who you don't know and with whom you aren't comfortable.  You are incredibly athletic and pick up sports really quickly.  You are learning how to ski and have no interest in doing the wedge.  You would like to head straight down the hill - showing your daredevil side. You love speed and adventure.  You get a kick out of watching Splash Mountain and make us measure you every time we go to Disneyland to see if you are tall enough yet (still not.) We ride the Goofy roller coaster every chance we get.

You are a mama's boy.  First thing in the morning and last thing at night you love to snuggle with mommy.  You usually get into bed and tell me that you need "snuggles." You drink your chocolate milk in our bed and then tell me you are cold, at which time you burrow your body into mine to get warmer. During the day you love for me to hold you, but usually Daddy holds you when he is home.  You love Daddy and ask for him while he is at work.

The piwwow.  You LOVE your pillow.  I just put another 400 (literally) stitches in it tonight.  You cannot sleep without piwwow and dadu (pacifier.) You are a kind and loving little boy, always with a loving hug or kind word to others.  You love animals, especially our dogs and the bunnies in your classroom. You are a good listener and most of the time will do as I ask.

You do still throw tantrums and you need to take naps, even though you no longer do.  You can wail on your brother, and hold your own in fights with him. You adore your sister and always want to be the first to greet her when she wakes up from a nap or from bed.  You call her "Angel" and hug and kiss her constantly.  Except when you're beating her up.

You are an angel, my love, my cute little man. I call you Landon Man, little man, love of my life.  I am wrapped around your finger and so proud of you.  Happy 3rd birthday to my sweet baby boy!
