I haven't uploaded pictures in a little while so I will explain as I go.
I have been in the South Bay bubble for weeks straight. You know that feeling of just needing to go somewhere else? Well, on Saturday a few weeks ago I wanted to get out of the bubble. We decided to drive to Claremont and walk around the colleges. The kids had fun looking at all the fountains and seeing where Mommy and Daddy fell in love. We had fun going back to 11.5 years ago as well. It's always fun to visit old memories.
Me outside of Dennison library. The doors only open 2 days a year - when you start and when you finish college. You walk in as a freshman and walk out as a graduate on your graduation day. It's a neat tradition.
Seal Court, where much studying, dating and enjoying were done.
Our friend was baptized earlier this month and then threw a party in the park. Brian got to baptize her, which was really cute! A lot of the ward went to the park together, which was incredibly fun. This is Aspen and her boyfriend, Jack, who is one day younger than her.
My sweet boy is sleeping. More on this later.
My other sweet boy. I love these boys too much!
Brian's great uncle is almost 90 years old. He hasn't missed getting the kids a gift for 1 holiday and always asks about them. He actually drove down from LA (30 minute drive) to see them one day. The kids were SO excited to play with Uncle Bob.
The night before Landon's birthday we booby trapped Landon's door so when he opened it, balloons would fall in on him. He LOVED it! He was so excited by all the balloons and i heard his excited voice saying "Balloons!! Mommy - come look!!!"
Because he woke up at exactly 6 am on his birthday, I took him on a special date to get Krispy Kreme donuts. We got a dozen and he ate 3!!!! I never let him have donuts, so I guess this is why he pigged out on them!
Happy birthday sweet boy.
Aspen had her first donut. I'll say she loved it!
Then Brian stayed home with Aspen so I could take Landon to school and read books to his class and bring cupcakes (because he needed more sweets.)
We went to a Dr. appt for Hunter at Children's Hospital so my friend watched Landon and Aspen. She is so wonderful! We came back to happy kids, a home cooked meal and cupcakes and party hats. Thanks Tamara!
The birthday king. I love the expression on Aspen's sugared up little face.
On Friday night Megan came over to help me decorate the cake and cupcakes for Landon's birthday party. She is an awesome decorator! Landon took a nap that day and therefore stayed up until 11 pm with us. Grrr. No more naps for that kid!
But he sure is cute, isn't he?
The train cupcakes
The train cars
The engine and first train (hauling a lion!)
The next day was his party!
The sister missionaries came over to help me set up because Brian had to go to a Kindergarten information session.
We rented a train to take the kids all over the neighborhood. It was a huge hit!
Rachel! She is the best babysitter ever and will be with the kids all next weekend while Brian and I are in Vegas. Oh yay!
Aspen ate for an hour straight. She ate 3 pizzas of pizza, chips, fruit, salad....she was crazy! Then she went to bed.
The fam - Aspen.
Look at Hunter's patient face.
Landon was SO tired later in the day but just loved this toy. He couldn't even sit up to play with it though.
And this is how he ended the day - asleep in our bed before bedtime.
This is the whole cake (which we almost ate the whole thing!)
The boys playing nicely together.
My sweet little guy is 3. I love him beyond measure. I cannot wait to see what happens in the next year for him!
