My birthday trip to Vail!

We hadn't left town in ages. I was so excited to go play in the snow and see my boys (all 3 of them) ski. After all, Landon asks to go skiing about 360 days a year.  When we got to the hotel, they had set up a tent in the boys' room! They were THRILLED.

Sweet sleeping kiddos. They were SO excited to ski the next day that they got up at 6:30 (5:30 LA time). It was my birthday and I was already up. We ordered a wonderful breakfast from room service (such a treat).
She wanted to sleep in the big girl bed. Her nights in the crib are numbered.
Huevos rancheros + gourmet haute chocolate
Our view of the gorgeous town! it was so picturesque and cute.
Cute little man could NOT wait to get on the slopes!
Carrying their own skis.  It last for all of 10 feet but it was 10 feet that I didn't have to carry them. Not pictured: me carrying all of their other gear.
Ready to go!  We got compliments every single day on the kids' attitudes.  They were surprised that both boys were skiing at such a high level and that they always used their manners.  The instructors said that a lot of the time the kids complain about going.  We let them go 3 days, took a day off, and then they went back 2 more days.  We wouldn't have sent them SO much except that they complained on the day they took off!
Daddy and Aspen hanging out on my birthday.  We dropped the boys at ski school and then the 3 of us played around in the little town center.

 Aspen among Aspens.
Getting the girl a cookie (and a necklace, as it turns out.)
She didn't want to wear her gloves.  It was below zero. She was very happy to see them when they reappeared.

Brian sent me flowers and was disappointed by their size.  We thought we would play with perspective to make them look huge.  I thought it was beautiful and thoughtful.
And then I went to the spa!
Aspen in the tent while the boys were at ski school.
This is what I got for my birthday - in addition to the camera I am using to take photos!
 Landon and his coach.
 Hunter and his coach
The boys trying to catch snowflakes on their tongues! SO cute!
Our view from one side of our house.
The boys all snuggled up and watching the iPad.

 Mmmm. Chocolate buttercream!

That night my handsome husband took me out to dinner :-)

Her little cheeks get eczema in the cold. So sad.
We went to the library. We took the public bus.  She thought it was the most fun adventure EVER.

Landon and his coach on the slopes
After skiing for 2 days, 6 hours a day, Landon was too tired to make it back to the lodge. His sweet coach pulled him and carried his gear.

Coloring and drinking hot cocoa while waiting for Daddy.

 Daddy got to ski too!

Snuggles. Landon is, amazingly, almost a level 4 skier.  Most of you don't know what that means, so I will tell you.  As soon as he can stand himself up when he falls they will take him to the top of the mountain to ski intermediate runs! No, he isn't quite 4 yet! He ran a race course while he was there and he did awesome. He missed 1 flag, one time, and insisted on going back and doing it again. He is awesome.

Hunter is also a bona fide skier. He is skiing completely on intermediate runs and I didn't get to see him ski one time! I really wanted to, but I can't go up on the mountain while carrying Aspen and pregnant.

 Snuggles from my lover boy.

The hotel made some mistakes (which is unlike them), but they sent 5 haute chocolates and homemade smokes to try to make it up to us.

 Bedtime!
Anywhere there is snow is a place to have a snowball fight.  This is the knowledge that my boys gained, and I was constantly being pelted with snow!

I was spying on his class but they had come in for hot cocoa. He didn't know I was in the lobby as he walked back out - doesn't he look hard core? :-)
Cute skier is working on keeping those skis parallel. French fries not pizza wedges!

The boys were NOT thrilled about taking the public bus.
 Aspen and Daddy.

How old is she? She looks like a teenager in her thermals!
 Snowball fight!

Followed by pizza at Beaver Creek.
Daddy was so sweet to take the boys down to the pool. He forgot his suit but he stood down there in below freezing weather while they loved the hot tub and pool.

Then we went out to eat for dinner just the 2 of us.
Mmmm. Steak at Flame. Highly recommend.

We got the boys helmet covers. This is Landon's. Hunter's is all black with yellow spikes down the center and makes him easily visible while on the slopes. Brian found him on days that he was skiing.

My view when I'm not holding Aspen. See her grabbing my bump and begging to be held?

 Landon!

 Little Ms. Independent.
 Best brothers. Seriously.
 My 3 loves.
 After completing the race course.

 Snowball fight!!!
We had a wonderful week in Vail followed by 1 night in Denver.

This was the Denver hotel - the kids loved it.
 Bathroom view.

Rice krispy treats and jelly beans.  Seriously?

We spent a day at the aquarium too!

When we came home, a friend came over with homemade gingerbread houses for us to make! Aspen was thrilled.
 So were the boys.

Look how neatly Aspen did hers!!!

 Proud of his finished product.

On Wednesday (the 18th) we finally brought a Christmas tree home! The boys "helped".

 And we decorated Thursday night!

Daddy's job is always putting the star on the tree.  It's the only decorating he does.

 Santa baby love.
Me and my bowling ball belly. Almost 26 weeks!
 Christmas love!

We are gearing up for Christmas. It's almost here!
