Jackson Hole January 2016

Before we left we got to do something I had been working on for awhile. Landon loves cats and has been asking for a cat for at least 2 years. Brian does not want a cat. I signed us up to volunteer with a local cat shelter that has cats in Petsmart. I'm impressed with how well these animals are cared for, but I'm most impressed with how happy it made Landon. If I could have adopted a cat, I would have taken home Tiffany, right then and there.  We will go every Friday before school starts.

Here we go! We went to Jackson this week because Landon wanted to "go skiing and tubing with my family in Jackson Hole." We went to celebrate his birthday, as we did 2 years ago.

When did this kid get so big?!

Aspen got a jacket that matches mine for Christmas this year <3 p="">

We flew into SLC and then drove 5 hours to Jackson. It was okay with the flight first and then the drive. Coming home is another story....

The kids couldn't wait to go skiing in the morning! Brian and I went to see a house and have lunch. The 3 big kids skied 3 days in a row. Maisy woke up one of the days repeating "key". It took me  little while to understand that she wanted to ski. Such a cutie pie. She has given up diapers for good and is annoyed that I insist on her sleeping in a pull-up. She keeps it dry 6/7 nights a week.
 And she eats her veggies.

There was a giant drum in one of the houses we looked at and she thought it was a winner.

That bum! Every day after skiing we get the kids and go to the hot tub for cocoa and scores (complimentary.) It's amazing.

Daddy and his kiddos. <3 p="">
Landon adores Maisy. One day I was walking him home from skiing and he said "I missed Maze today." So cute.

A tree house. How awesome is this?!
 And a teepee!

 And a gorgeous view! <3 p="">
This is an ice house that they build every year. Maisy loved it.

Throwing a fit. It's even cute when she throws fits.

Every morning they have complimentary tea, coffee, and cocoa with scones and cookies in the front lobby. That's how we wake up every day.

Hunter is a bad A$$ skier. He's officially a better skier than both of his parents.

This is the amazing lunch that we have on ski days. It's at the top of the gondola. It's like pho but oh so much better.

The girls. They sure do love one another. There is a lot of love in our family.

Tubing! This is the day we chose to celebrate Landon's birthday. We went tubing and played at a friend's house. Then we went to dinner at the Gun Barrel, Landon's favorite. After that we went to the room and had cake and exploded these little confetti poppers.

Maisy is too little to tube, so I walked back and forth pulling her for the hour that they went. She fell asleep <3 p="">

My adorable almost 6 year old!

Skiing in pure powder (10 inches of it) with my love bug

I love this little skier. He lost confidence after a bad incident last year. Every day he went to ski school they would feel so bad about him crying on the top of the mountain and they would just move him to the bottom. I took him out of ski school on the last day and skied with him - just me and him. The thing is that Landon and I have this incredible relationship of mutual trust and respect. He knows I will push him but I won't let him get hurt. I let him choose the first 3 runs and I chose the next 3 runs. He was a little emotional because he was scared. I told him that if he skied what i wanted him to ski without crying and whining, he would earn his poles. This kid is an incredible athlete and a natural skier. He skied incredibly. Actually, he even told me at one point "Mommy, I am really good at this." I was happy for my goggles, which covered my crying eyes. I told him that I knew that all along. He did awesome and I am so so proud of him.

 Little ripper.
One of the very few photos of me taken on the trip. Landon took my picture while I was putting on my boots.
A ski day = Brian and Hunter skied together. Landon and I skied together and we all met up for lunch. It was a special day <3 p="">

 Cocoa break!

These are their Valentine's day outfits. I knew I had to dress them cute because we were doing a 5 hour drive followed by a 2 hour flight home. It's a long day and one child in particular does not handle it well.

 Goodbye Four Seasons!

I love this look. I get it a lot and I've yet to capture it on camera. It means "Did you just say 'no'?"

 Almost home.
It was another wonderful trip in which we made even more awesome friends. We love it there so much and wish that finding a house wasn't such a struggle!
